Lets Go Deeper
See It. Feel It. Practice It.
Visualization is a form of mental rehearsal. It gives you an opportunity to practice how you want to feel, respond, and move through your birth—not to predict exactly how it will unfold.
The more senses you bring into the picture, the more vivid the experience becomes.
So take a breath and begin to imagine yourself there.
Take a moment to imagine yourself in your birthing space.
What do you see around you?
Is the room bright or dim? Who is with you? What surrounds you?
What do you hear?
Music? Quiet voices? Words of encouragement? Your own breath?
What do you feel?
Warm water against your skin? Your partner’s hands supporting you? Your feet grounded beneath you? Your body softening as you breathe?
What do you smell?
Is there a familiar or comforting scent in your space?
And then go a little deeper…
How do you feel within yourself?
Safe. Supported. Calm. Powerful. Connected. Present. Heard.
You don’t need to know exactly where you’ll be, what position you’ll birth in, or how every part of your birth will unfold. Instead, begin creating a sensory picture of how you want to experience yourself within it.
Close your eyes for a moment. Take a slow, calm breath. Let yourself see it. Feel it. Practice being there.
