• How to recognize medical emergencies

• When and how to administer CPR to an infant

• How to care for your infant in emergency situations

• Choking maneuvers, safe sleep practices, etc.

What we will learn in Newborn Care: 

• SIDS awareness

• What normal newborn appearance after delivery and the first couple days

• What happens right after birth,

• How to give your baby a sponge bath,

• Diapering basics

• Burping basics

• How to swaddle your newborn

Topics that will also be discussed: 

• Items to have at home

• Umbilical cord care

• Taking the baby’s temperature

• Crying

• Comforting and information about car seat safety.
